6 Fall-Themed Drinks to Get You through the Thanksgiving Holiday
Fall is full of apple, pumpkin, cinnamon, and many more flavors that are the trademark the last few months of the year. We’ve compiled a list of six seasonal drink options you can include in your Thanksgiving plans that you’ll be thankful for, no matter how you’re celebrating this year.
Salted Caramel Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
Talk about fall in a cup! This frothy drink will satisfy any sweet tooth.
Ingredients:
- For the pumpkin spice syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 2/3 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
- 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp all spice
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp cloves
- For the latte:
- 2 shots of espresso
- 2 shots pumpkin spice syrup
- 1 ½ cups milk or almond milk
- Whipped cream or coconut whipped cream
- Salted caramel sauce or vegan salted caramel
Directions:
- For the syrup:
- In a small pot, mix together the water, sugar, pumpkin, and spices.
- Let the mixture to come to a boil and then turn the heat down to allow the mixture to simmer.
- Simmer until mixture thickens and then add vanilla.
- For the latte:
- Mix together the syrup, milk, and espresso and pour into mugs or glasses.
- Top with whipped cream and salted caramel.
Apple Cider Moscow Mule Recipe
Put a fall twist on a classic drink. Bonus points if you use the traditional copper mugs (which will look fabulous as a part of your fall décor)!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz ginger beer
- 5 oz vodka
- 2 oz apple cider
- 5 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
- Ice
- Apple slices for garnish
Directions:
- Squeeze your lime into the mug.
- Add desired ice.
- Add apple cider, vodka, and ginger beer.
- Stir to mix.
- Enjoy!
Cranberry Harvest Punch Recipe
Perfect if you’re hosting a crowd for dinner, this punch has just the right flavor to pair with your cranberry sauce.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups orange juice
- 4 cups grape juice
- 1 cup cranberry juice
- Orange slices and cranberries to garnish
Directions:
- Stir all ingredients together and enjoy!
Crockpot Butterbeer Rum Recipe
Let your inner Harry Potter fan (or butterscotch lover) out to play with this toasty mixture that will please any witch, wizard, or Muggle.
Ingredients:
- 6 cups water
- 2 (12 oz) cans cream soda
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter
- ½ cup butterscotch syrup, divided
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups spiced rum
- Whipped cream, for serving
- Gold sanding sugar, for serving
Directions:
- In Crockpot, combine water, cream soda, sugar, butter, cinnamon sticks, vanilla, and salt. Cover and cook on low for 3 – 3 ½ hours, until warm and butter is melted. Remove lid and stir in rum.
- Pour remaining butterscotch syrup onto a shallow plate. Dip rims of mugs in syrup before filling with butterbeer. Top with whipped cream, sprinkle with sanding sugar, and serve.
Slow Cooker Spiced White Hot Chocolate Recipe
Enjoy this new take on the classic hot chocolate with white chocolate and seasonal spices.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz white chocolate, broken into small pieces
- 4 cups Half & Half
- 2 cups milk
- 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 7 oz jar marshmallow crème
- 4 sticks of cinnamon
- 2 tsp vanilla extract OR 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
- ½ tsp ground cardamom OR 4 cardamom pods
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg OR 1 whole nutmeg
Directions:
- Place all ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low for 2 ½ – 3 ½ hours, stirring occasionally.
- Remove cinnamon sticks, pods, and nutmeg before serving.
Andes Mint Hotchata Recipe
Mentally prepping for Black Friday? Get hyped for shopping with this yummy concoction that will keep you warm and festive!
Ingredients:
- 1 bag Andes Crème de Menthe Baking Chips (ends up being two cups)
- 2 cups Rumchata
- 4 cups Half & Half
Directions:
- Put all three ingredients in a Crockpot.
- Put on high until ingredients are melted together, stirring often.
- Put on low after ingredients are melted and stir every 20 minutes. Double the recipe for a large crowd.
