We often get asked when the best time is for customers to place a furniture order. Since we deal with customers all over the United States, this can be tricky to give a general answer.
Assuming you have an outdoor space ready to go, the best time to order will depend on season, the items you want to order, and when you need them. These factors can help you narrow down when the best time is to get your order started.
Traditionally, the summer “season” runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and is when most of our customers are using their patios with the nice weather. Which translates to winter and spring being our busiest seasons with customers gearing up for summer.
If you live somewhere where it’s always nice, you may not feel constricted to order seasonally since you can use your patio all year round. Lucky you!
Thankfully poly lumber furniture does not absorb moisture so rain and snow won’t affect it outdoors, so you really can order it whenever. Many of our customers order with the summer season in mind, but you definitely don’t have to be restricted to that.
Items You’re Ordering
How long an order will take from start to finish will depend on what you’re getting! If you’re ordering in-stock color Adirondack chairs, your order will typically ship within 5-7 business days (or the current lead time). But if you’re ordering custom items, like a deep seating or dining set, you’re going to want to order these as far in advance as you can. Each custom order goes into a chronological build queue, so shipping time will depend on the length of the queue and availability of the material.
When You Need Them
This factor is very subjective and only you can answer as the end-user. If you host a big July 4th bash every year and want your new furniture there in time, you’ll want to order your custom furniture around March to give yourself plenty of time. If you’re redoing your space with no specific deadline in mind, but you know you want it done before the start of summer, you’ll still want to order in advance of when you want your project complete. Having a date in mind when you want to start using your outdoor space to its fullest extent can be helpful to manage expectations.
We want you to be able to show off your new furniture at your holiday party or next BBQ, so planning ahead is the best way to make sure it gets there in time!
Like the rest of the world, our business has been affected by the pandemic and supply chain issues that have caused a shortage of poly lumber and elongation of lead times. Generally speaking, early spring tends to be the best time to order patio furniture so you can have time to enjoy it in the summer. But there’s no wrong time to place your order!
